Letting Jesus set the terms, his surprising claim is that he is “gentle and lowly in heart.”

We want our students to feel this graceful purpose; so when they leave here they have hope that their purpose is not in the circumstances in front of them, but in the One that loves them.

If I can choose to truly value my peers and enemies, I can enter into a joy that can’t be taken.

I’m embarrassed to admit how easily frustrated I get in this situation. It’s hard to care more about a student’s future than the student does.

Failure used to be the enemy, then it became the way for her to know how she would improve.

When I close the gap between us, my heart breaks for the kid. I’m filled with grace and compassion.
